Marguerite Irwin

Marguerite Irwin, formerly of Sanibel, died October 6, 2017 in care of Hope Hospice at Shell Point. Mrs. Irwin was born Sept 19, 1918 in Clark County, Illinois, graduated from the University of Illinois where she was initiated into the honoraries Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Beta Kappa. In 1942 she married Dr. George Irwin and moved to Bloomington Illinois at the conclusion of his military service.

They have three children, Patricia McConnell of Evanston Il, Dr. Stephen Irwin of Bloomington IL,. and Janet Johnson of Fort Myers.

Upon retirement the couple moved to Sanibel where she was active as a docent at the Historical Village, a Stephen minister at the Community Church and a pillar of the Power Squadron. They moved later to Shell Point where she remained active until felled by the ravages of Alzheimer's disease.
