Sanibel became his home in 1983 where he and his wife were caretakers of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church for a decade beginning in 1988. M.G. was well known at the Sanibel Community Church where he and his wife worshipped and he was an active member of the men's Bible study. Sporting a bright orange hat, M.G. could be spotted daily on Bowman's Beach Road on walks to the beach to greet the day or pulling snook off the Blind Pass Bridge.

M.G. was laid to rest on Saturday, December 16 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Orlando following service at Brush Arbor Baptist Church. M.G. has traded his daily sunrise walks for an eternal walk with the Lord and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved this peaceful and purposeful man.
