Storytime Rocks!

Family Storytime will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at the Sanibel Public Library, at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. Designed for babies up to age 5, the program encourages the development of pre-reading skills with talking, singing, reading, writing and playing. World of Reptiles

Reading in the Refuge

Hear an exciting wildlife-themed story from a naturalist and make a craft about an animal from the estuarine ecosystem at 10 a.m. in the Visitor & Education Center at the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, at 1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel. For pre-K through sixth grade, but all ages welcome. Program is 45-minutes long. Bailey Homestead: Making the Land Work

A walking tour of the Bailey Homestead Preserve from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. blends SCCF's mission-driven work on the historic property, the history of the land itself and some stories about the Bailey family. Summer Concert Series

Southwest Florida Symphony's Southwest Florida String Trio will perform on June 13 at 7 p.m. at the Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers as part of the Summer Concert Series. They will perform an array of musical selections from composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, Schubert and Piazzolla, in "Baroque and Beyond, Part II." New Moon Meditation

A New Moon Meditation class will be held at 7:45 p.m. on South Beach on Captiva. Enjoy a guided meditation on the beach as the sun sets and the moon rises. Bring a towel or blanket to sit on. Meet at Alison Hagerup Beach Park, at 14790 Captiva Drive. Cost is a suggested donation of $10-15, with all proceeds to benefit the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation's sea turtle research program. All-Levels Yoga

Indigo Trail Walk

Naturalists lead a one-hour tour identifying and discussing the ecosystem's plant and animal species at 10 a.m. at the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, at 1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel. Health Literacy

F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva, in conjunction with Lee Health, Millennium Health, Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ and Comfort Keepers, will offer a community presentation called "Health Literacy, The ABC's of Good Health Care" on June 14 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. The Sanibel Public Library will host Databases and Donuts on "Libby and A-to-Z World Food" from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. Stop by the technology area for a donut and to learn about featured library databases. This session will cover tips and tricks of using Libby eBook App and A to Z World Food.

Family Beach Walk

Meet at the Gulfside City Park on Sanibel for a one-hour guided exploration of the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge's Perry Tract at 9 a.m. Learn about the vital beach ecosystem. SATURDAY, JUNE 16

Wildlife Wonders

What makes a bird a bird? Why is a manatee a sea cow? Is it a crocodile or alligator? Join a staff member at 11 a.m. to learn about the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge's unique ecosystem and find the answers to these questions and more. Subject will change weekly, depending on the presenter. Program is 30-minutes long and takes place in the Visitor & Education Center, at 1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel.

Free Admission Day

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village, at 950 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, will host a free admission day for the public. It is aimed at both residents and visitors on the islands. The village is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. Free guided tours are at 10:30 a.m., based upon docent availability. Experience Virtual Reality
