Bowman's Beach, Bayou Walk

The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation provides a guided walk from 9 to 10 a.m. along the beach toward Blind Pass, then along the back dune/bayou trail. Meet at the foot of the bridge that crosses the bayou on the way to the beach, at 1700 Bowmans Beach Road, Sanibel. Walk is free; attendees must pay to park. For information, call 239-472-2329.

Vinyasa Yoga

The Trager Approach is a bodywork and movement awareness method that promotes relaxation, pain relief and freedom of movement. Turtle Tracks

Learn about the life cycles and habits of the sea turtles and shorebirds that nest on Sanibel beaches, the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation's monitoring activities and what it is doing to protect them from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Nature Center, at 3333 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel. Coffee, Tea and Trivia

Enough Of Scams

F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva, in partnership with the Sanibel Police Department, Entech and Griffon Force, will host "Enough of Scams; Stop Identity Theft In Its Tracks" from noon to 2 p.m. at Saint Michael & All Angel's Episcopal Church, at 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Opening Reception

The Captiva Civic Association and Sanibel-Captiva Art League will host an opening reception for "24 Hours on Captiva" from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Captiva Civic Center, at 11550 Chapin Lane, Captiva. Experience Virtual Reality

Explore a vivid underwater world full of sea life from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sanibel Public Library, at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. The 5-10 minute HTC Vive VR experience features the "Coral Reef, Whale Encounter and Deep Sea" experience. Visitors can also experiment with 3-D painting using Google Paint. For ages 10 and over. New Moon Meditation

A New Moon Meditation class will be held at 4:45 p.m. on South Beach on Captiva. Enjoy a guided meditation on the beach as the sun sets and the moon rises. Bring a towel or blanket to sit on. Meet at Alison Hagerup Beach Park, at 14790 Captiva Drive. Cost is a suggested donation of $10-15, with all proceeds to benefit the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation's sea turtle research program. Holly and Ivy Bazaar and Bake Sale

The Women's Guild of Sanibel Community Church will host the annual Holly and Ivy Bazaar and Bake Sale from noon to 8 p.m. at 1740 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Lunch will be served from noon to 3 p.m. A silent auction will take place from noon to 8 p.m. All items are made by the guild, including hand-painted ornaments, decorated Christmas trees, tree skirts, angels, hand-knit goods, quilts, children's clothing, costume jewelry and stocking stuffers. Hosted by the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce, the 34th annual Luminary Holiday Stroll will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. along Periwinkle Way on Sanibel. Lit paths will lead the way to landmarks, where attendees will enjoy activities, snacks and refreshments provided by participating businesses, organizations and entities. This year, the event will kick off with a ribbon cutting and grand opening for the chamber's newly renovated Visitor's Center at 5 p.m. at 1159 Causeway Road, Sanibel. There will also be a tree lighting at 6 p.m., followed by an open house until 7 p.m.

6th Annual Holiday Stroll

South Seas Island Resort will host its 6th Annual Holiday Stroll from 6 to 9 p.m. at 5400 Plantation Road, Captiva. There will be treats; skating; live music; arts and crafts; entertainment, including face painting, stilt walking, juggling and balloon artists; holiday movies; photos with Santa; and more. Cost is $10; children ages 12 and under are free. Proceeds will benefit Captains for Clean Water.

Luminary Holiday Stroll

Hosted by the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce, the 34th annual Luminary Holiday Stroll will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. along Captiva Drive and Andy Rosse Lane on Captiva. Lit paths will lead the way to landmarks, where attendees will enjoy activities, snacks and refreshments provided by participating businesses, organizations and entities. The event will kick off with the annual Captiva Holiday Village Golf Cart Parade, sponsored by South Seas Island Resort, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. along Captiva Drive, Andy Rosse Lane, Chapin Lane and Wiles Drive.

Art on the Veranda

The Sanibel-Captiva Art League will hold Art on the Veranda from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bailey's General Store, at 2477 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Members will have original artwork to peruse or buy, including watercolors, acrylics, oils, collage and more. For information, visit www.sancapart.com.

Festival of Wreaths

The Shell Islands Garden Club will host its Festival of Wreaths beginning at 11:30 a.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Bid on an assortment of wreaths that have been created by the club members during a silent auction. The wreaths are currently on display in the North Room of The Community House. Designer Carol Kolar, who decorated the White House for Christmas in 2017, will present the program "Dreaming of a White House Holiday." Light holiday refreshments and beverages will be served.
