As host and underwriting sponsor of the 17th annual The Sanctuary Charity Classic on Jan. 26, The Sanctuary Golf Club announced Paul and Lucy Roth, of Sanibel, as the honorary chairpersons.

"Lucy and I are so pleased to represent The Sanctuary as honorary chairs of this year's Sanctuary Charity Classic," Paul Roth said. "This special event, in partnership with the Charitable Foundation of the Islands, each year raises thousands of dollars to support those in need in our community. Sanctuary members and all those who participate in this wonderful event will have not only a great day of golf on the beautiful Sanctuary golf course, but the satisfaction of helping others."

"Paul and Lucy Roth have been members of The Sanctuary Golf Club since 2003," Ken Kouril, chief operating officer of The Sanctuary Golf Club, said. "Their commitment and contributions to our island community have been extraordinary. It is an honor having them represent The Sanctuary's premier charity event."

There are sponsorship opportunities ranging from the $7,500 diamond partnership, which includes additional rounds of golf, lunch, and dinner at The Sanctuary Golf Club, to a $250 hole partnership.

All proceeds go directly to the Charitable Foundation of the Islands, which distributes the funds to assist island non-profit organizations, individual island residents and workers who have experienced hardships, such as medical and financial emergencies.

The event begins at 10:30 a.m. with a brunch, followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. After, golfers meet at the clubhouse for drinks and hors d'oeuvres, an awards presentation and helicopter drop.
