Three cantors, pastor to perform at SCUCC

An musical afternoon will be held on Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. at Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ on Sanibel, organized by Bat Yam - Temple of the Islands' cantor Murray Simon.

Songs, duets and ensembles from the light classics, Broadway, pop, Leonard Bernstein and more will be performed in the Sanctuary. Selections will include "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder, "Tonight" by Leonard Bernstein, "If Ever I Would Leave You" by Frederick Loewe.

The singers will include the Rev. Dr. John Danner, senior pastor of Sanibel Congregational; Cantor Randy Herman, from Bet Torah in Mount Kisco, New York; Cantor Elizabeth Shammash, from Tiferet Bet Israel in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania; and Murray Simon. Toby Simon will be the piano accompanist.

Following the performance, there will be a reception to meet the musical celebrities.

The program is open to the public.

The principal sponsor is the Leo Rosner Foundation in honor of June Rosner.

Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ is at 2050 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
