The Sanibel Public Library recently received a $5,000 grant, presented by Pamela Hancock of Public Risk Underwriters of Florida.

The grant from Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust was awarded due to the implementation of safety measures at the library, including staff training, equipment and maintenance for safety of staff and library patrons.

"The money will be used to enhance library programs and services, including the book collection," Executive Director Margaret Mohundro said.
