Romney's decision commendable

To the editor:

Much has been written about Sen. Mitt Romney's decision to act on moral principle (and, admittedly, a mountain of evidence) to find the president guilty of an "appalling abuse of the public trust" by "attempting to corrupt an election to maintain power."

Perhaps more commendable was his insightful observation and confession that he had found in business and politics that "when something is in your personal best interests, the ability of the mind to rationalize that that's the right thing is really quite extraordinary I have seen in others and I have seen it in myself."

We should all aspire to that level of self-reflection - and honesty.
