Proffesional protesters are just trying to rally up a bunch of angry citizens to try to convince people its a good idea to buy land south of Lake O. Its a terrible idea. In 2015 the SFWMD unanimously rejected an option to buy land south of the lake. They made this decision based upon the fact that if they did buy the land the purchase would impede the current Everglades Restoration Projects.

All the water is coming from up north near the Kissimmee Basin/Orlando are. We need to aquire more storage to hold all the excess water. Then we also need to repair that dike, Its time anyway it was built in the 1930s I believe.

wow 75% of people said no. Flooding occurs in Florida all the time. They need more storage up north because that's where 95% of the water form Lake O comes from. Stop trying to put small town farmers out of business south of the lake.

AS anyone can see from the poll, not many people are being effected, except for the paid activists who are working to STEAL farm land south of Lake Okeechobee. The rainfall that triggered the discharges is a natural occurring event in Florida. The canals got flooded from FRESH wanter, not polluted water and it came from the north Florida watershed above =the lake - not from farm fields south of the lake.
